The section of the country known as Tornado Alley lived up to its name over the weekend, and the wild weather might not be over yet. Almost a dozen tornadoes were reported in Texas and Oklahoma on Saturday and into Sunday, while others hit in Nebraska and Kansas. An area stretching from central Texas to the Mississippi valley faced severe storms over the weekend.
- Today could be worse, the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center said yesterday. “Severe thunderstorms capable of all severe hazards, including strong tornadoes,” were expected across portions of the southern Plains today, the weather service said.
