Louisiana State University acknowledged Wednesday (January 15th) that Cleveland Browns star and LSU football alum Odell Beckham Jr. gave several of the team's players real money after they won the College Football Playoff National Championship against Clemson on Monday. Beckham Jr. was seen on video slapping cash into the hands of two players, juniors Justin Jefferson and Jontre Kirklin, and Heisman Trophy-winning senior quarterback Joe Burrow said on the Pardon My Take podcast that he got cash from him too. The incident could be a violation of NCAA rules, since players aren't allowed to accept cash. LSU officials said, "We were in contact with the NCAA and the SEC immediately upon learning of this situation in which some of our student-athletes may have been placed in a compromising position. We are working . . . to rectify the situation."
