Ryan Day Combats Mental Health Stigma: "We're All Vulnerable."

After he announced his support for the creation of The Ryan and Christina Day Fund for Pediatric and Adolescent Mental Wellness at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, he explained that one of the reasons for his commitment is very personal.

His dad committed suicide when Day was 9 years old.

"Growing up, I didn't quite understand what all went down," he said. "And then as I get older, I start to realize it was a sickness, and there's people out there that need help."

He's helping with a personal donation of $100,000, which will be used for "increasing education, advocacy and fundraising."

"It's just like any other sickness," said Day. "I think if somebody has cancer or somebody gets ill, they need treatment. Well, it's the same thing with mental health."
