Dobbins Declares for the Draft

After the best single season in Ohio State history, with a school record 2,003 rushing yards, running back J.K. Dobbins has declared for the NFL draft.

His history-making year is even more impressive when you consider that the Buckeyes played in so many lopsided games, that more than two-thirds of Dobbins's carries came in the first half of games.

It also included 211 yards against Michigan, the fourth best rushing performance ever by a Buckeye against Ohio State's rival. (Carlos Hyde recorded 226 in 2013. Chris Wells ran for 222 yards against the Wolverines in 2007. And Ezekiel Elliott had a 214-yard rushing day against Michigan in 2015.)

Dobbins will finish his career with 4,459 yards on the ground, good for the second best total in OSU history, only behind Archie Griffin's 5,589.

He was also the first Buckeye to rush for more than 1,000 yards as both a freshman and sophomore, seasons in which he split time with now Cowboys running back Mike Weber.

And though he's now headed to the pros, Dobbins is still getting some advise from his position coach, Tony Alford.
