As the Cavs prepare for their showdown with Golden State in the NBA Finals, Cleveland star LeBron James was hit with a dose of life's reality. The home that he owns in Los Angeles was vandalized with a spray-painted racial slur on the outside gate. Instead of talking about defending Kevin Durant and Steph Curry, James pre-Finals press conference started with questions regarding the ugly incident.
"No matter how much money you have, no matter how famous you are, no matter how many people admire you, being black in America is tough," James said. "We’ve got a long way to go, for us as a society and for us as African Americans, until we feel equal in America.”
James was somber as he addressed the issue, admitting he was not his 'energetic self.' You can hear his comments in the video above.
