Since Urban Meyer arrived at Ohio State, he and strength coach Mickey Marotti have had an on-going tradition. Marotti, responsible for the off-season conditioning program, getting the Buckeyes ready for camp, "turns the keys" of the team over the Meyer. There was a little change in the routine this year. The ceremony typically has been night before the first practice. Because two-a-days have been done away with, and camp is longer, Meyer waited a week and got the keys Wednesday night, as Ohio State prepares for its first practice in full pads Thursday.
The Ohio State Football Twitter account released a quick video of the ceremony, from the Wednesday night "Champions Dinner." Marotti gave fifth-year senior Tracy Sprinkle the honor of turning things over to Meyer. You can check it out here.
