The Ohio State offense rolled up 584 yards, while the defense allowed only 64 as the Buckeyes dominated Maryland from start to finish, posting a convincing 62-14 homecoming victory.
Quarterback J.T. Barrett was 20-31 passing for 261 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also had 59 yards rushing and a TD.
While Barrett and the Buckeye offense rolled, Maryland, and quarterback Max Bortenschlager found no room against the Ohio State defense. The Buckeyes held the Terrapins to 16 passing yards and only six first downs. Ohio State also had a defensive touchdown, when Nick Bosa sacked Bortenschlager, forcing a fumble which was scooped up by linebacker Jerome Baker who ran it in 20 yard for a first quarter score.
Maryland did have a major highlight, when Ty Johnson ran a kickoff back 100 yards for a score. The Buckeyes also played a sloppy special teams game, missing one field goal, having another blocked and fumbling a snap on an extra point. Nonetheless it was another blowout win for Ohio State (5-1, 3-0 Big 10) who have outscored their last four opponents 210-42.
