What A Day

The forecast wasn't promising but ultimately, Mother Nature didn't dare mess with the second annual "Spielman Scramble Golf Outing" Monday at Kinsale. What an afternoon it was, as a full flight of 105.7, the Zone listeners enjoyed a day of golf, food and fun all in support of the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research. It's an event I really had little to do with. The big kudos belong to Bruce Hooley and Chris Spielman who broadcast from the event and stayed all day with the golfers. Bruce and Chris really made it all happen. But the biggest thanks goes to all of of our wonderful listeners who came out. Of course the golf was a lot of fun, but the cause is what made it all worth while and just for playing each one of our participants made a difference.

Here's the interview Stan Jackson and I did with Chris after the Scramble was over, followed by a few photos of the day's highlights. Here's to everyone who took part...and we'll see you next year!!

Maddie Spielman is gone from 105.7, the Zone working full time for the James now but she is certainly not forgotten. It was great to see her reunite with Bruce.

This turned out to be our winning group. Colin and Carter Smith, A.J. Kissh and Alex Jones, pictured here with Bruce.

Stan Jackson toured the course with me and took one swing...Here's the video evidence. My great friend Joel Riley, morning show host for 610 WTVN was there to provide some commentary. Stan CRUSHED the drive---it just didn't happen to land anywhere close to the fairway.

Our morning and afternoon teams together. Chris Spielman and Stan Jackson with Bruce and me. Love working with these guys!
