There's been a significant amount of news lately regarding the Basketball Buckeyes so we were able to catch up with Buckeye Basketball coach Chris Holtmann Wednesday afternoon on "The Drive" on 105.7, The Zone.
Holtmann is nearing the one year anniversary of accepting the Ohio State coaching job. We discussed his crazy first year as well as several other important topics. Among them is the schedule. In the last few weeks we've learned how challenging the 2018-19 schedule will be. The Buckeyes will play 20 Big Ten games for the first time and have non-conference road games at Cincinnati and at Creighton as well as a neutral site game against UCLA. On top of that, there will be a Big 10/ACC challenge game, which Holtmann told us will be a home game against an NCAA tournament team. That could be any one of nine teams from the ACC including Virginia, Duke, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Miami, Virginia Tech, Florida State, Syracuse or Clemson.
We also discussed the Buckeyes upcoming summer time trip to Spain, the NBA draft process involving Big Ten player of the year Keita Bates-Diop, and even a little about Cavs star LeBron James. All in all, it was a wide ranging interview and you can check it out here.
