Wrapping Up Buckeye Spring Ball

How much can you tell from a Spring Football Game? Truth be told...probably not a ton. Some plays, however, were made last weekend in Ohio State's annual Spring Game that raised some eyebrows and gave fans a glimpse of what we could see in the fall. Most of the attention of Buckeye Nation over the last month has been on the quarterbacks. Georgia transfer Justin Fields seems to be the favorite to win the starting job. His Spring Game included a touchdown run and a 98-yard touchdown pass to Ben Victor. Fields and Matthew Baldwin are battling for the starting job and Baldwin threw the ball well for 256 yards and two touchdowns, including a toss to the corner of the end zone in which freshman wide-out Garrett Wilson made one of those eyebrow raising plays, out-leaping defensive back Sevyn Banks for the score.

With the Spring Game and the 15 workouts for the Buckeyes wrapped up, I visited with Best Buckeye Coverage analyst Bill Conley and WTVN's Eric Reiser to discuss the game and spring ball as a whole. We heard post Spring Game comments from coach Ryan Day, Fields and some other players as well. If you missed the program, you can check out the commercial free replay here.
