I've worked with former Buckeye basketball captain Tony White, our OSU hoops analyst on WTVN, for more than 20 years. I can tell you, they don't come more Buckeye than Tony. Besides being a former Buckeye hoopster, Tony has served on committees with Director of Athletics Gene Smith, and has been on the Varsity O board. This Saturday, however, when the Miami Redhawks visit Ohio Stadium, he'll be wearing Miami red, rather than Ohio State scarlet. That's because Tony's son Donovan is a back-up offensive lineman for the Redhawks. Donovan, who played high school football with Buckeye defensive end Jonathon Cooper at Gahanna, is a redshirt junior, who walked on to Miami but was recently put on scholarship.
On Wednesday morning, WTVN morning host Joel Riley joined me and talked to Tony about his unique Saturday in the stadium. It was an extremely entertaining conversation about what it will be like for Tony to be rooting for the 40-point underdog Redhawks, rather than the Buckeyes. If you missed it, you can check it out here.
