If you've listened to former Buckeye quarterback and WTVN analyst Stan Jackson with us on our Best Buckeye Coverage through the years, you know he's not a huge fan of the College Football Playoff committee. He has maintained that the committee has under valued the Big Ten conference in general, and Ohio State in particular. When I saw the rankings get unveiled Tuesday night, with Ohio State on top, I thought, 'finally--Stan will be satisfied.' I was wrong.
We went into great detail, arguing and debating the playoff rankings on the "Jackson and McCoy" podcast, which dropped Wednesday but prior to recording the podcast, we got a small sample of Stan's issue with the committee on his weekly appearance on The Joel Riley Show on WTVN. While Stan, who is also a Big Ten Network analyst, gave the committee props for putting the Buckeyes first, he believes undefeated Minnesota is getting the shaft, being ranked only 17th. I never know the direction our conversation will go and I didn't anticipate debating Minnesota Gophers football with Stan, but we did and it ended up being a fun and lively segment, which then carried over into the podcast. If you missed Stan, talking CFP rankings with Joel, you can check it out below. If you want to check out our podcast, when we got into not only the playoff rankings, but the Buckeye/Maryland game, the undisciplined Browns, the winless Bengals and more, click here to go to our podcast page.
