Something's got to give. The Football Buckeyes this season, have won every game by at least 24 points---the first team in 48 years to pull that off for the first 10 games of a season. Saturday, they host No. 8 and 9-1 Penn State who in the recent past, has played Ohio State as well as anyone. The last three meetings between the Buckeyes and Nittany Lions have been decided by a total of 5 points. Penn State won in Happy Valley 24-21 in 2016. The following year, Ohio State rallied behind some J.T. Barrett fourth quarter magic to win 39-38. Last year, it was deja vu, except it was Dwayne Haskins engineering the 4th quarter comeback, with the Buckeyes winning at Penn State 27-26. So will this be a close game like the last two years, or another convincing win by this 2019 Ohio State machine? If you believe the guys who set the point spread in Vegas, they tend to think it's another Ohio State runaway, as the Buckeyes are favored by 19 points.
In his weekly appearance with Joel Riley on 610 WTVN, Best Buckeye coverage analyst Stan Jackson, my partner on the "Jackson and McCoy" podcast, talked about this match-up with Penn State, eased my concerns about a comment I didn't like, said by Buckeye running back J.K.Dobbins and discussed embracing the pressure. We got into all of that and much more when we sat down to record "Jackson and McCoy." In addition to the Buckeye/Penn State game, on the podcast we tackled the College Football Playoff rankings, the ugly Browns/Steelers incident last week, the Myles Garrett suspension, Dwayne Haskins first NFL start and who is the best NFL Buckeye?
