After a loss to Florida on December 7, the NHL playoffs seemed like a pipe dream for the Blue Jackets. They were 11-14-4 and had the third worst record in the league. Since then, however, they've been the best team in the NHL, going 17-2-5 since beating Washington December 9. At 28-16-9 (65 points) the Jackets are in playoff position with 29 games to go. Tuesday night, the Florida team that beat the Jackets that December night prior to the turn around, visits Nationwide Arena as the CBJ look to build on their hot streak which includes a 7-0-1 run over their last 8.
On the Joel Riley show on 610 WTVN Tuesday morning, we talked with longtime Blue Jacket reporter Aaron Portzline of "The Athletic," and discussed the CBJ turnaround, injury updates, the upcoming trade deadline and more. Great stuff as always from Aaron on a team that has been fun to watch. If you missed it, you can check out Aaron's interview by clicking here to go to Joel's podcast page.
