Thanks to Sunday's win over Michigan and eight victories in the last 10 games, the Basketball Buckeyes (20-9, 10-8 Big Ten) continue to climb in the Associated Press poll. This week, they're up four spots to No. 19. Ohio State is one of eight Big Ten teams in the top 25, with Maryland leading the way at No. 9. Michigan State, who host the Buckeyes Sunday in the final game of the regular season, is ranked 16th. After that, Iowa is No. 18, followed by the Buckeyes at 19 and Penn State at 20. Ohio State's opponent in the home finale Thursday night, Illinois, checks in at No. 23, with Wisconsin 24th and Michigan 25th.
With fortunes of the Buckeyes taking a turn for the better, we had a lively Bucksline Monday night. Former Buckeye captain and 610 WTVN analyst Tony White was on the road this week and joined the show on the phone. In studio, to help, we welcomed Buckeye basketball beat writer Adam Jardy of the Columbus Dispatch. The topics included Sunday's Buckeye win over Michigan, the improved play of point guard C.J. Walker, the status of D.J. Carton and Kyle Young, the upcoming 1960 national champion Buckeye reunion, the games this week vs. Illinois and at Michigan State and much more. Thanks so much to our listeners and Buckeye Nation for all the interaction and a big thanks to Adam for joining us and providing great information.
