The suspension of play due to the coronavirus pandemic could mean the Blue Jackets have already made the playoffs...or maybe not. This morning, on the Joel Riley show, we were joined by Blue Jackets beat writer Aaron Portzline of "The Athletic" and discussed the scenarios the NHL is considering when and if they resume play following the hiatus. The Jackets (33-22-15) currently hold the final wild card spot in the East with 81 points---just one point ahead of the New York Islanders. The Isles, however, have played only 68 games compared to 70 by the Jackets. If the league decides to scrub the rest of the regular season, and go straight to the playoffs, who gets in? That was part of our discussion with Aaron, we also talked about how the players have reacted to the suspension and what they're allowed to do during this unexpected time off. A big thank you to Aaron for joining us and for once again bringing great information. If you missed our conversation you can check it out by clicking here to go to the podcast page.
