Buckeyes Open Camp Ranked No. 2 In Coaches Poll

The Football Buckeyes hit the practice field for the first time Thursday, as they opened training camp for a 2020 season that is uncertain, but also filled with high hopes and great expectations. After falling to Clemson in the national semi-finals last season, the Buckeyes were voted No. 2 in the pre-season coaches polls behind only the Tigers.

Alabama is ranked No. 3, with Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, Penn State, Florida, Oregon and Notre Dame rounding out the top 10. In addition to Buckeyes and the 7th ranked Nittany Lions, four other Big Ten teams made the top 25. Wisconsin is No. 12, Michigan No. 15, Minnesota No. 18 and Iowa No. 23. Also of note, former Buckeye Luke Fickell's Cincinnati Bearcats check in at No. 22.

As for the Buckeyes, they had their first practice of training camp Thursday. Afterwards, Coach Ryan Day met with the media, via a zoom call, for about a half hour. You can check out his comments below, thanks to our friends at ABC-6.

The Buckeyes revised 10-game Big Ten schedule came out Wednesday. We visited with long-time Buckeye beat writer Bill Rabinowitz of The Dispatch. He joined Joel Riley and me to discuss the schedule, the season and more. Great information, as always from Bill. You can listen to it by clicking here to go to Joel's podcast page.
