Graham Rahal Talks 3rd Place Indy Finish, Life Without The Buckeyes & More

Sunday was a good day for Central Ohio's Graham Rahal. The 31-year old equaled his best ever finish at the Indy 500, winding up third behind winner and Rahal-Letterman-Lanigan Racing teammate Takuma Sato and Scott Dixon.

"Obviously I wanted to win," Rahal told Joel Riley on 610 WTVN Tuesday morning. "It's great for the team (to have Sato win) and it's great for all of us, but it stings to be that close and not win this damn thing."

Rahal is having a terrific season. He is currently fourth in the IndyCar Driver standings. He has yet to win this season but has finished third or better in three of the seven IndyCar series races so far. We talked with Graham about Indy and his season. We also talked with Graham, who is a crazy Buckeye and Blue Jackets fan about his disappointment over the Big Ten's cancellation of fall football and the Jackets elimination from the playoffs. Graham and wife Courtney Force are expecting their first child in November. We also discussed his pending fatherhood. Thanks to Graham for joining us. It was a tremendous interview with one of Central Ohio's great sports ambassadors. If you missed it, you can listen by clicking here to go to Joel's podcast page.
