President Donald Trump Addresses United Nations General Assembly

President Donald Trump boasted of his accomplishments during his second speech to the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday (9/25) morning. Trump said the U.S. economy is booming and American unemployment continues to be very low. He said the U.S. is a “stronger, safer and richer country” than it was before he took office.

Trump pushed back against "global governance, control, and domination” and promised to stand up for American interests on the world stage. He explained that he believes that global trade has become "bad and broken" and singled out China for criticism saying that the situation must change. Trump insisted that the U.S. has been taken advantage of for too long. He said that any trade deals negotiated with the U.S. must be fair and reciprocal.

The president also defended his decision to pull the U.S. out of the multi-nation Iran nuclear accord, saying that it was a horrible deal. He called out Iranian leadership saying the country is being run by a corrupt government and accused them of being the world's top state sponsor of terrorism. He said the United States has "launched a campaign of economic pressure to deny the regime the funds it needs to advance its bloody agenda."

"We cannot allow the world's leading sponsor of terrorism to possess the planet's most dangerous weapons," he said. "We cannot allow a regime that chants 'Death to America' and that threatens Israel with annihilation to possess the means to deliver a nuclear warhead to any city on Earth.

The president also asked other nations to do more to help curb illegal immigration, which has produced a vicious cycle of crime, drugs, violence, and poverty. He called on world leaders and United Nations to do everything they can to make their own countries "great again."
