Death penalty sought for man who started deadly Toledo fire

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVN) -- Prosecutors in Lucas County have decided to seek the death penalty against the apartment owner accused of setting a fire that killed two Toledo firefighters.

Ray Abu-Arab was inducted on two counts of aggravated murder, two counts of murder, two counts of aggravated arson and eight counts of tampering with evidence.

Private Stephen Machcinski and Private James Dickman were killed fighting the fire on January 26. Abu-Arab was arrested and charged with their deaths four days later.
