A new trend for milestone birthdays has women doing adult smash cake photos shoots in which they tear into birthday cakes with their hands baby-style. The shoots, which are mostly being done for 30th birthdays, usually show the cake smashing and face-smearing being done outdoors on a picnic blanket, next to a chalkboard sign with birth announcement-like statistics, such as height, weight, age, likes and dislikes. Things like balloons, decorations, and tiaras are often involved, as is drinking down some wine or other adult beverage.
