BUCKEYE LAKE, Ohio (WTVN)--The Village Council in Buckeye Lake met through the night, into Tuesday morning, to ultimately decide on removing the Police Chief from office.
The decision on James Hanzey comes after claims from the mayor that he was unfit for office. It's all after Hanzey accidentally fired his gun during a call earlier this year.
The Pataskala Police Department investigated that incident. Council members heard from those who conducted that investigation, along with former employees of the Buckeye Lake Police Department, before rendering their decision around 4AM Tuesday.
