Burrow Leaving Ohio State

After much speculation, quarterback Joe Burrow made it official with a Twitter post on Tuesday. He is transferring from Ohio State.

Burrow was Ohio's Mr. Football in 2014 and arrived on campus in 2015. He and Dwayne Haskins have served as the back-ups to J.T. Barrett. Burrow suffered a hand injury during training camp last season, giving Haskins the number two spot and Haskins came up big last November, rallying the Buckeyes from behind to beat Michigan after J.T. Barrett suffered a third quarter knee injury.

Despite that performance, coach Urban Meyer declared the job open in the spring with Burrow, Haskins and Tate Martell battling. While no starter has been announced publicly, the Burrow transfer appears to indicate that Haskins will be the Buckeye starter in 2018.

Burrow's transfer leaves the Buckeyes thin at quarterback, with Haskins, Martell and freshman Matthew Baldwin the only scholarship QB's on the roster.

Burrow graduated from Ohio State last Sunday. As a graduate transfer, he can leave and become eligible immediately.
