COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) -- Another early release planned for Columbus City Schools Wednesday due to extreme heat conditions.
It's due mainly to the fact that close to 30 district buildings lack air conditioning.
All high school and middle school students will start dismissing at noon Wednesday, while students in elementary, kindergarten through six and kindergarten through eight schools will dismiss at 1 p.m.
Latchkey will be open and welcome students at their dismissal times.
All high school sports practices will continue as scheduled.
Meantime, Columbus Recreation and Parks is extending hours at some of its facilities to give people a safe place to stay cool.
Most rec centers will remain open until 9 p.m., with a few exceptions.
