UNDATED, (WTVN)--A new evaluation by Forbes Magazine ranks the 31 NHL franchises by their estimated value, and the Columbus Blue Jackets are near the bottom of the list.
The publication estimates the team to be worth $320-million, putting them 29th on the list. Only the Florida Panthers and Arizona Coyotes rank lower.
The top of the list is dominated by original-six teams, with the New York Rangers worth an estimated $1.5-billion. That's followed by the Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens, and Chicago Blackhawks.
The Blue Jackets began play as an NHL expansion franchise in the 2000-2001 season, with the Minnesota Wild joining the league that same season.
The league's newest franchise, the Vegas Golden Knights, are worth an estimated $575-million.
