COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The Ohio State University has named a new Police Chief.
The university naming Kimberly Spears-McNatt to replace the departed Craig Stone.
Spears-McNatt previously served a Deputy Chief, and worked as the Deputy Police Chief under Stone.
Spears McNatt is also a graduate of the university. Originally from Akron, she lived in Canfield Hall and worked on campus while working to earn her undergraduate degree. Her Master's Degree is from Franklin University.
As chief, Spears-McNatt wants to emphasize she is making sure the university’s police division understands the needs of an increasingly diverse campus population.
The university also announced that Tracy Hahn has been brought in as Deputy Chief. She has over 28 years of law enforcement experience, including four years as a police officer for the OSU Police Department.
