COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Police are investigating after a someone attempted to abduct a 12-year-old girl in Whitehall Monday morning.
Officials say the incident happened in the rear lot of an apartment complex on South Hamilton Road just before 8 a.m.
The girl told authorities a man tried to grab her by the backpack as she walked to school, but she was able to wrestle away and run for help. She left her backpack behind, and that is now missing. The girl then ran back home.
Detectives say the girl described the suspect as a thin Hispanic male in his thirties standing just under six-feet tall and clean shaven.
