COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Monday marks the first day on the job for the new Superintendent of Columbus City Schools.
Dr. Talisa Dixon takes over for Dr. Dan Good, who left the post over a year ago, and Dr. John Stanford served as Interim Superintendent until Dr. Dixon was hired.
Dr. Dixon spent years as Principal of Columbus Alternative High School, and most recently served as Superintendent of the Cleveland Heights-University Heights School district.
Dr. Dixon tells ABC-6 she is well aware of the issues with the district, including a transition in the school board, an "F" grade from the Ohio Department of Education, and the potential for a takeover of the district by the state of Ohio.
Dr. Dixon also comes in after the school board was told they may have violated state open records laws with their original search for a new superintendent, forcing the board to start from scratch last year.
