COLUMBUS, Ohio (24-7 News)--American Electric Power plans to invest almost ten-million dollars in electric car charging stations across their service area in Ohio.
The company said it would be working with Smart Columbus to promote private sector involvement on workplace charging for customers and employees who use electric vehicles.
AEP announced that any business in their service area which decides to install a device for EV charging could apply to have 100 percent of the cost of a charging station reimbursed by the utility.
Recent industry data has shown that in Central Ohio electric vehicles account for almost two out of every ten new car purchases.
