Winner of Iditarod pumps fists as he crosses finish line

Musher Pete Kaiser won the Iditarod sled dog race yesterday (March 13th), crossing the finish line in Nome after more than nine days in the Alaskan wilderness to win the sport's premier competition. The 31-year-old Kaiser finished in nine days, 12 hours, 39 minutes and six seconds, ending the 1,000-mile race just 12 minutes ahead of defending champion Joar Ulsom of Norway. Kaiser is the fifth Alaska Native and first of the indigenous Yupik people to win the Iditarod.
