COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The Ohio Senate is passing a bill which dramatically cuts the proposed gas tax increase on both gasoline and diesel fuels.
Details of the bill, passed Thursday night in the Senate, show the tax increase was approved at six-cents a gallon instead of the ten-point-seven cents proposed in committee or the 18-cents asked for originally by the governor.
The bill also cuts the 100-million dollars the House inserted to fund public transit down to 40-million dollars.
Now that the Senate has voted on their version of the legislation it will head back the House for concurrence.
