I'm sticking with my picks... Francesco Molinari and Justin Rose with dark horse Tony Finau... but I tell ya I'm impressed with Jordan Spieth's confidence. He says his long game is what's keeping him form the winners circle, but when I watch, his putter seems to be letting him down. Dude used to make bombs with such regularity, you'd think he couldn't miss. Now, you look at his finishes and see he's hasn't had any top tens this year... best finish is T24 and only finished 30th at the Valero in his home state of Texas... and his WGR is 33. Still, it seems like he's feeling it.
Then there's Tiger. He gets a lot of attention and deservedly so, but for all the people rooting for him, it just doesn't seem likely. I mean, I know lightning can strike, but he doesn't seem to be able to hang for four rounds and he rarely starts a tournament well. Those two things make it harder and harder for him to get to the winners circle. On top of that, he just looks tired... and maybe just a teen bit old.
Par 3 Tourny today, which is always fun... and speaking of fun, how about Conor Moore and his impressions of the major players in masters coverage. (his Molinari is worth the wait). And don't forget to listen for Matt and I with updates through the tournament, powered by Wesley Communities...
