COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--More legal action is being taken against The Ohio State University, regarding the decades of sexual abuse carried out by a former athletics team physician.
A lawsuit filed by 16 alumni is the fifth pending litigation against the university over Dr. Richard Strauss. An independent investigation, commissioned by the university, found Dr. Strauss sexually abused 177 students and student-athletes from 1979 to 1997.
Dr. Strauss died in 2005.
The suit claims university administrators knew about the ongoing abuse, but failed to take action to stop it.
Previous lawsuits against the university in relation to Dr. Strauss have been ordered to go to mediation.
