COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The Chief Executive Officer of Columbus-based Highlights for Children magazine has published a letter, calling for an end to the separation of families at the US border.
Kent Johnson's note on twitter has been liked over 54-thousand times. It says in part, "This is not a political statement about immigration policy. This is a statement about human decency, pure and simple."
He calls for more humane treatment of children being held at immigrant detention facilities.
The magazine is popular with doctor's offices, offering activities and reading material for kids waiting for an appointment in office waiting rooms.
Johnson says the decision to publish the letter was made jointly among company employees.
