COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--A large-scale development for the Whittier peninsula, along the Scioto River just south of downtown Columbus, is in the works.
The Zimmer Development Company is working with architectural firm NBBJ on the mixed-use development, that will include at least 350 residential units, up to 150,000 square feet of office space, restaurant and retail space.
The project would be completed in four phases, with the full project done in about 15 years. The largest building in the complex would be 30 stories tall.
The site is on 17 acres, currently owned by CSX, near the Scioto Audubon Metro Park.
The Brewery District Commission is in discussions with project leaders about the potential for the development.
