COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Hundreds of employees of the Columbus Dispatch printing facility will lose their jobs in March, when the paper's owner switches their printing operations to Indianapolis.
188 workers will have their final day on the job, at the southwest side facility, on March 6th. The facility also prints the Cincinnati Enquirer, with printing operations for that paper heading to Louisville, Kentucky.
Workers say it is a direct result of the merger between the paper's owner, Gatehouse Media, and Gannett.
About 30 of the affected workers are members of the Teamsters union. The local chapter's President tells ABC-6 they hope to negotiate with the paper on reversing the decision.
The paper's editor and interim GM says subscribers should see no change in the daily delivery of their paper.
