COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The Ohio Department of Health has confirmed that two possible cases of coronavirus in the state have tested negative for the disease.
Health officials tested the two patients who recently traveled to China, and came back to Miami University on Oxford, when they began to show symptoms similar to the coronavirus. They were isolated while the testing was conducted.
The CDC conducted the tests that turned out negative.
ODH Director Dr. Amy Acton says health official remain vigilant about preventing the spread of the virus. She adds, “It’s also important to remember that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say the risk of the general U.S. population contracting the novel coronavirus is low."
There are at least 8 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in the US.
