COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Ohio Governor Mike DeWine says plans are still in the works to allow bars and restaurants across Ohio to safely reopen during the coronavirus pandemic.
In his daily press conference Monday, DeWine says he is taking input from restaurant industry leaders in the state to come up with guidelines and standards regarding social distancing and proper cleaning.
As part of his "Stay Safe Ohio" order, offices, construction sites, and distribution centers were permitted to reopen on Monday, with new social distancing guidelines in place. Retail outlets will be permitted to reopen on May 12th.
There is still no set date on when bars and restaurants can reopen. The same goes for tattoo parlors, gyms, salons, and barber shops.
Also, Lieutenant-Governor Jon husted says the state's BMV offices will remain closed through at least the end of May. He adds that plans are in the works to have more services available online, to prevent the need to visit the office in-person.
