Dragon X back on terra firma

SpaceX's Dragon capsule and its two crew members returned to Earth Sunday (August 2nd) in a splashdown that was first by U.S. astronauts in 45 years, with a recovery ship picking them up within a half-hour. The capsule, named Endeavour, parachuted into the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Pensacola with test pilots Doug Hurley and Bob Benhken on board, ending the first manned space flight by a private company. They blasted off two months earlier for the International Space Station, and left it less than a day before. Another SpaceX crew will launch as early as next month.
