COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The President of the Ohio State University is showing her support for students and staff for successfully flattening the curve of coronavirus cases on campus.
On Sunday, Dr. Kristina Johnson tweeted that the positivity rate for on-campus students dropped to 1.6%, a 3-week low. She adds there were no new cases among university employees in Sunday's update, either.
There were several spikes in new coronavirus cases over the past three weeks.
The university announced late last week that there will be no traditional spring break in 2021, in order to prevent travel-related coronavirus infections. Instead, the university will take two days off from class, one in February and another in March.
The university also announced that the first week of classes for the spring semester will be all-online, to allow for self-quarantining after the holiday break before classes resume in person.
