COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--For the 1st time in 24 years, Franklin County will have a new prosecutor.
Voters on Tuesday went with democrat challenger Gary Tyack over long-time Prosecutor Ron O'Brien, the republican who was seeking a 7th term in the office.
O'Brien conceded the race to Tyack, following the results on election day.
Tyack is a retired Appeals Court Judge, where he served for 24 years. O'Brien was considered by many to be the highest-ranking republican in Franklin County, frequently winning re-election in a traditionally democrat stronghold.
Also on Tuesday, incumbent democrats Franklin County Commissioners Kevin Boyce and John O'Grady easily won re-election.
