COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--A prominent member of the Somali Muslim community was confirmed to have died, when a body was found in a van in the south Linden area last week.
Police responded to the area of Windsor Avenue Friday afternoon, where the body was found.
Investigators confirmed the victim was 48-year-old Mohamed Adam. It is being treated as a homicide, and is considered Columbus's 198th homicide of 2021.
Adam went missing on Wednesday, and the discovery came just hours after members of the Somali-Muslim community pleaded for his safe return.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations is offering a $10,000 reward for info leading to a resolution in the case.
