KANSAS CITY, Missouri (WTVN)--The Cincinnati Bengals will play in the Super Bowl for just the 3rd time in franchise history, after coming back to beat the Kansas City Chiefs, 27-24, in overtime of the AFC Championship Game on Sunday.

The Bengals were down 21-3 in the 1st half, before Quarterback Joe Burrow hit Samaje Perine for a touchdown pass in the 2nd quarter. The Chiefs failed to score on their final possession of the 1st half, and had a 21-10 lead at halftime.

After a field goal, the Bengals were able to tie the game in the 3rd quarter on a Burrow touchdown pass to Ja'Marr Chase, followed by a pass to Trent Taylor for a 2-point conversion.

The Bengals eventually took the lead in the 4th quarter on a 52-yard field goal by Evan McPherson, but Kansas City tied it to force overtime with a field goal of their own as time expired in regulation.

Kansas City won the coin toss for overtime, but Patrick Mahomes threw an interception to Von Bell on a deflection. The Bengals took the ensuing drive to set up McPherson's game-winning 31-yard field goal.

It's the first Super Bowl appearance for the Bengals since the 1988 season, and they will play the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on February 13th.
