COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--For the 2nd time, the Ohio Supreme Court has ruled the state's new Ohio House and Senate district maps are unconstitutional.

The 4-3 ruling released Monday says the maps still unfairly favor Republicans. Challengers argued the maps do not accurately reflect the state's electorate.

The Supreme Court issued a similar ruling in January, for the maps that favored Republicans by an even wider margin.

The ruling Monday set a new deadline for approved maps, by the Redistricting Commission, by the end of the day on February 17th.

A voter initiative passed in 2018 requires bipartisan support for the state's new maps. Minority Democrats have filed the challenges to each of the first two map versions.
