COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--A young woman died, and two teenagers were injured in a shooting Wednesday at the Glenwood Community Center.
Police responded to the facility just before 6PM, where two victims were found in the parking lot. The 18-year-old woman and 24-year-old Atayia Nichols were taken to Grant Medical Center, but Nichols later died.
A third shooting victim, a 15-year-old boy, was found a couple blocks away, and was taken to OSU Wexner Medical Center for treatment.
Witnesses say it was a fight that led up to the shooting. The community center was being used as a cooling shelter during the extreme heat at the time. There was also a summer kids camp there.
It's the 4th shooting at a Columbus city park this year, and Columbus's 59th homicide of 2022.
