COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Police have seized more vehicles and issued more citations in what they consider "Part III" of "Operation Wheels Down".
Officers have been cracking down on illegal operation of ATV's and dirt bikes on city streets this year, following numerous complaints from residents and drivers.
In the latest leg of the operation, which was carried out on July 30th, 11 vehicles were impounded, 2 stolen vehicles were recovered, with a 3rd possible stolen vehicle having its VIN removed, and 26 citations were issued.
Two felony charges were filed as well.
Since the operation began in May, officers have issued 66 citations, charges, or arrests, and 34 vehicles have been seized as evidence. The youngest suspect in the operation was 8 years old.
