Ohio lawmakers debate later start to school year

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) -- How would you feel about the kids not starting the new school year until after Labor Day?

It's under discussion in the Ohio Senate, where supporters say starting the school year in mid-August conflicts with county fairs and puts students in classrooms without air-conditioning when temperatures are in the 90's.

Those against a later start say it forces kids to sit through classes in mid-June.
