Arrest in Columbus State gun scare

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) -- Classes resumed Thursday morning at Columbus State Community College, as students breathed a bit easier knowing a suspect in Wednesday's gun scare is under arrest.

And, the president of the college said in a release that counseling assistance is available for all students, faculty, and staff.

The school says Columbus police arrested Deandre McClarin, 18, early Thursday in Dublin.

They say McClarin is not a student at the school but believe he is the one who showed a gun Wednesday morning at the Center for Technology and Learning.

As Columbus State police worked with Columbus police and authorities in Franklin and Delaware counties to get the warrants they needed for the arrest, the Columbus campus was closed for the rest of Wednesday as a precaution.
