Buckeye Signee Kaleb Wesson Honored

Basketball Buckeye recruit Kaleb Wesson is piling up the post-season honors. The 6'10 center out of Westerville South has been named the Ohio Capital Conference Player of the Year and the Central District player of the  year. He added to those honors Monday, when he was named the Ohio Gatorade Player of the Year.

Wesson, who will join older brother Andre on the Buckeyes next year, averaged better than 22 points and 11 rebounds a game this season. Westerville South bowed out of the post-season in the District  Semi-Finals, after making the state Final Four the previous two years--including a state championship last year.

The Gatorade award could be just the start for Wesson who is a candidate for Ohio's Mr. Basketball which will be awarded by the Associated Press later this week.

Wesson isn't the only major college big man in Central Ohio. Pickerington Central's Sterling Manley is headed to North Carolina next season. The Tigers have advanced all the way to the State Final Four this weekend. If you haven't seen Wesson play, here are highlights from his match-up with Manley earlier this season.
