COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Columbus Police have released a picture of a boot, found on one of the two human legs discovered in the trash at a south-side processing facility this week.
The boot is described as a women's size 10 "Just Fab" shoe. The legs were found in two different trash bags at the facility on Tuesday. Officers say the only way they got there was through the regular pickup schedule of the garbage truck.
Police Sergeant Stan Latta says that the garbage truck made stops on the city's northwest side that day. There were also remnants of a pair of jeans attached to one of the legs.
Forensics investigators, and the Franklin County Coroner's Office, are still working to determine the method of dismemberment and the identity of the victim.
The case is being treated as a homicide.
